With Botty, the dad, at the helm of the H.M.S. Burp, we set sale on the stormy seas of domestic life, in search of paradise – or just a day when the beer is cold and the remote control is within reach.

Gorgeous wondermum, Totty, manages to fit thirty hours into every day and still looks fab, even if she has been known to cover the baby in flea powder and put a nappy on the dog!

The junior Burps, Spotty, and his little sister Snotty, are worlds apart. Spotty likes nothing more than to dream up ways of modifying a Mk1 Vauxhall Nova – and Snotty is much more Marilyn Manson than Marilyn Monroe.

Grandma Dotty, bless her, is a few dentures short of a full set of gnashers – and Grotty, the Grandfather is never more happy than when he’s miserable.

Keeping a disdainful eye on his less than admirable ancestry is Potty only a few months old but already a concert pianist and undiscovered boy genius; if only he had the power of speech, he could let his mum know.

Add a splash of chaos in the form of Lotty, the dog with a negative IQ and there you have them…. The Burps
